Growing up in a gardening family, I have had my hands in the soil my whole life. I started working as a professional gardener in 1998 where I learned what it meant to provide perfection in the gardens of our clients. Over the years, as I became more confident and knowledgeable, I started taking on side jobs on my own after work hours. I had suddenly become so busy that I decided it was time to start my own business. During this time, I was in the process of looking for a new place to call home. When I pulled into the driveway for my first viewing, I was so excited! It was perfect for the home of my future flower farm. To others, it must have looked like a disaster! The property had not been maintained for quite awhile, but I had my future vision goggles on! I was in love! The deal was made and the papers were signed!

The property has a rich history that fascinates me to this day. Once known as Lapland Orchard and Nursery, we have ancient apple trees of many varieties and the famous Waterville pear tree. This pear tree is said to be one of the oldest in the state of Vermont. Our home is over 200 years old so as you can imagine there has been a lot of life lived on the land. Iā€™m honored to be bringing the farm back to its glory. When I was deciding on a name for my new business, naturally, I wanted to include the pear tree. It is a huge tree overlooking the gardens that has survived the test of time. Pear Tree Gardens was born in 2014 and I had my work cut out for me!

As a busy Mom with a growing list of clients, tending to my own gardens has been a slow process. Every year I expand and perfect my vision of the future of the farm. I have had many skilled mentors over the years that have inspired me and have made me the picky perfectionist that I am today. From gardening to wedding and event work, drying flowers for my art, and most recently opening a gift shop on the property full of products I have made with the plants that I grow and forage for, I see Pear Tree Gardens as an ever-evolving place of beauty and love. I have always had a special connection with plants and I am honored to share that with others.
